I am Emily Smith, Myofascial Release Practitioner and movement guide, licensed in Massage and Bodywork Therapy in North Carolina, serving the community and visitors of Asheville and Black Mountain, NC. I offer space for healing yourself in providing a fusion of movement guidance and touch, adaptability and strength training for eliminating myofascial restrictions and pain, restoring balance, resiliency and health. My evolving
approach to bodywork is eclectic and steeped in 20 years experience and wisdom acquired from listening to bodies talk and helping others move, feel and heal.
I have been fascinated by exploring movement and touch as medicine and emotional expression for almost as long as I can remember. I have been a practitioner of MFR since 2012 and licensed Massage Therapist since 2013. I have received expert level training in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach®, am certified in Pilates with the Physicalmind Institute and am trained to instruct Qigong and yin yoga. I have been guiding others in movement since 2002.
Your body tells your story.
Movement and touch are universal languages of the body we originally taught ourselves to speak.
Posture, gait, movement, and body language are our unique expressions of our life's experiences, and our self-healing tools.
Touch is a universal language of love and the only sense we cannot survive without.
